Don't Be Afraid of The Dark

Don't Be Afraid of The Dark

From Canadian Director; Troy Nixey and writer Guillermo del Toro from Pan's Labyrinth

Bailee Madison-Sally Hirst
Katie Holmes- Kim
Guy Pearce- Alex Hirst

A young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own.

While it's pleasantly atmospheric & initially quite scary, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark ultimately fails to deliver the skin-crawling chills of the original, that being said, I am immune to scary movies. So if you are one who scares quite easily you will find this scary. The setting is spooky, the creatures would scary, this movie delivered a good story, even if it wasn't spooky for me, and the twist at the end is so worth it. =)

Cheers!

Crazy Stupid Love

Crazy, Stupid, Love

Directed by:  Glenn Ficarra and John Requa
From writer Dan Fogelman- Cars, Bolt & Tangled(Screenplay)

Steve Carell- Cal Weaver                      Jonah Bobo-Robbie Weaver
Julianne Moore- Emily Weaver              Joey King- Molly Weaver
Emma Stone - Hannah                            Analeigh Tipton- Jessica
Ryan Gosling- Jacob Palmer                  Kevin Bacon- David Lindhagen

A middle-aged husband's life changes dramatically when his wife asks him for a divorce. He seeks to rediscover his manhood with the help of a new-found friend Jacob, learning to pick up girls at bars.

Often romcoms are cheesy and fall short, but this film had a well developed plot, character development and the humor was believable and related to the audience. Nothing was too over the top but I just couldn't stop laughing! Everyone plays there part perfectly, and you feel for each of them in an individual way.

Enjoy! =)

French Bread Stuffed with Meat Sauce

Hey this is a really simple meal I make often. I tae my left over spaghetti sauce reheat and  add peaches and cream corn for a bit of sweetness. Then you cut a ravine in the center of the bread fill with heated sauce top with cheese and put in oven(on broil) to warm and melt cheese.

Mhhhhhmmmm Delicious!

Abduction

Abduction- from director- John Singleton and writer Shawn Christensen

Taylor Lautner- Nathan
Lily Colins- Karen
Sigourney Weaver- Dr. Bennett
Jason Isaacs- Kevin
Maria Bello- Mara
Michael Nyqvist- Kozlow
Alfred Molino- Burton
Dermot Mulroney- Martin Price

A thriller centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.

Yes, I rented this movie originally to see Taylor Lautner, shame on me. This movies title explains it all, Taylor Lautner finds a photo of himself on a missing persons website while doing a school project, he contacts the website and a huge chain of events occurs. There have been other movies of a similar nature that have come out but none that have action scenes of this nature. Taylor Lautner, digs deep to bring up his Sharkboy skills, do karate, acrobatics, exc. If you feel like watching a movie filled with action, and a very attractive lead character this if the movie for you.

Cheers!

30 Minutes or Less

30 Minutes or Less
from director Ruben Fleischer, who had previously been in charge of the movie Zombieland

Jesse Eisenberg- Nick
Aziz Ansari- Chet
Danny Mcbride- Dwayne
Nick Swardson- Travis
Fred Ward- The Major
Dilshad Vadsaria- Kate
Micheal Penna- Chango

Rated R for crude and sexual content, pervasive language, nudity and some violence

Two fledgling criminals kidnap a pizza delivery guy, strap a bomb to his chest, and inform him that he has mere hours to rob a bank or else...

I was less then impressed with this film, this movie could have been hilarious, but the sexual innuendos/crude language, took away from the sheer genius of this film, Honestly there is only one scene that I laughed uncontrollably, that seen stared Aziz Ansari, thee only other person worth watching is Fred Ward. If you feel like listening to crude language and being less then amused I'd recommend this film for that, if you want to be entertained do not rent this movie...

Perogie Casserole

Hey everyone, Perogie Casserole is probably one of the easiest dishes to make.

Everything you need;
Casserole dish
Perogies; I use cheese and potato stuffed
 Your favorite veggies
Left over meat;Ham or chicken
Your favorite cream soup, I use Cream of mushroom or Habitant Pea soup
Milk
Cheese

Preheat oven to 375C

I start by emptying my bag of perogies into the casserole dish
I then cover with my chopped up veggies(celery, green peppers, anything) and my meat
I like to use Ham the flavor compliments the perogies.
Then I take  my soup condense it with about a 1/2 cup of milk, pour it on top of everything.
Shred my cheese and top my dish with the cheese.- If i do not use perogies stuffed with cheese I mix cheese in throughout the dish.

Pop it in the oven for 25-30mins

 Constantly checking with a fork.

*If your perogies are frozen it may take longer to cook.

Exercise oh the joys....

Hey guys, I was doing the Jillian Micheal's 30 Day Shred, which is a great workout but I found that after every time of doing it, my back and body would just be exhausted. At first I thought it was because I was out of shape, but when it continued I decided to go to the doctor and see if there was an underlying issue. Apparently I need to build the muscles in my back, or get a breast reduction(sigh not a chance). So I've decided to start doing yoga and Pilates, they are suppose to be very good for your posture and building muscles... wish me luck!!

Cheers!

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

    James Franco; Will Rodman
    Freida Pinto; Caroline Aranha
    John Lithgow; Charles Rodman
    Brian Cox; John Landon
    Tom Felton; Dodge Landon
    Tyler Labine; Robert Franklin
    David Oyelowo; Steven Jacobs
    Jamie Harris; Rodney
    & of course
    Andy Serkis as Caesar

The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate._ Rotten Tomatoes.

This by far was the most emotional Planet of the Apes movie made. Caesar really steals the show with his evolution through out the movie. This is one of my favorite movies from 2011. It truthfully is really eye opening film, for the sheer fact that it unknowingly addresses so many issues.  Testing on animals, connections we have with animals. Society's need to change what does not need to be changed. We will be the end of civilization as we know it,this was a look at one way we may end life as we know it.
